Faculty: Active Learning - Strategies for developing and implementing active learning methods. In-Person

Whether you are new to active learning, looking for ways to spruce up your teaching, or a seasoned pro who wants to share your expertise, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, we will create a working definition of ‘active learning’ and explore the benefits of adopting and embracing active teaching techniques, debunk myths and discuss some examples.
The second part of the workshop will be spent collectively developing the structure for the learning community which will kick off in April and continue through the next academic year. The goal of the learning community will be to share ideas, philosophies, and practices to improve student success and promote student-centered learning. Even if you are not interested in a long-term commitment to a learning community but are interested in active learning please join us for the just the workshop. You are also welcome to join the learning community even if you cannot attend the March workshop.

Facilitators: Ellie Kennedy, Mathematics and John Tingerthal, Acting Director, Faculty Professional Development Program
